Arriving by airplane to Ljubljana Airport:
For participants arriving by airplane to the Ljubljana Airport “Jože Pučnik”, the most convenient travel to Kranjska Gora is by using ground transportation offered by Hotel Kompas (the conference site). The distance in one direction is 65 km and the travel time is about 50 min. Transportation booking is arranged via the Registration Form. The cost of a car transportation in both directions (1 – 3 persons) is 240 EUR per car, while a van transportation (4 – 8 persons) costs 340 EUR per van (in both directions). The vehicles are parked in front of the Arrivals terminal. Hotel Kompas will collect transportation requests from the participants and will group them in a most efficient way to minimize the transportation price. The actual price per person will depend on the type of vehicle and the number of travelers (e.g., a single passenger in a car will pay 240 EUR for transfer in both directions, whereas two persons in a car will pay 120 EUR each,…). For eight passengers in a van, the price per person in both directions is reduced to 42.5 EUR. For transfer in one direction only, the prices are halved. Payment needs to be done individually at the Hotel Kompas reception desk upon arrival.
Kranjska Gora can be reached from the Ljubljana Airport also by regular bus lines (less convenient option). There are no direct bus lines to Kranjska Gora from the Airport, so one has first to take a local bus from the Airport to the nearby city of Kranj at 9 km distance (the timetable is available here) and then take another bus to Kranjska Gora (travel time from Kranj Bus Station is about 1.5 hours, the timetable is available here). The bus from Kranj to Kranjska Gora is the same as the one from Ljubljana to Kranjska Gora (Kranj is on the way from Ljubljana to Kranjska Gora).
Bus from Ljubljana:
Direct bus transportation to Kranjska Gora is available from the Ljubljana Bus Station (see the timetable and prices here). The travel time is about 2 hours.
Train:
Traveling by train either from Ljubljana or from the north (Austria), the train station nearest to Kranjska Gora is Jesenice (23 km from Kranjska Gora). From there you can take a local bus to Kranjska Gora (see the timetable here).
